PORTILAME announces the official presentation of its new Innovation and Research & Development (R&D) department, in an initiative that reinforces its strategic commitment to the future of timber construction. The event took place on September 8, in the new space dedicated to Innovation, located in Castelo de Neiva.
The creation of this area represents a decisive step in the evolution of PORTILAME, positioning the company at the forefront of the sector with innovative, sustainable solutions that are in line with the latest market requirements. This new R&D center aims to enhance the brand’s differentiation capacity, promoting the development of technologies and construction processes that value wood as a raw material of excellence for more ecological, efficient, and modern construction.
The new area will be led by architect João Veloso, who has extensive experience at PORTILAME and has been responsible for several challenging projects that required research and the application of innovative solutions. Recognized for his contribution to the sector, he is regularly invited as a speaker at national and international conferences on the subject of wood construction. João Veloso will lead this space with a research and development team from the University of Minho, in a collaboration that strengthens the link between industry and academia.
With this initiative, PORTILAME reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, quality, and continuous innovation, keeping pace with changes in the sector and anticipating the needs of its customers and partners.
