The National Award that recognizes Wood Architecture kicked off with a seminar at the Order of Architects – Northern Regional Section, with PORTILAME participating in the panel “Innovation, Certification, and Construction.”
On September 16, PORTILAME attended the seminar launching the 8th edition of the National Wood Architecture Award (PNAM’25), held at the Order of Architects – Northern Regional Section, in Porto.
Under the theme “Wood Architecture: Sustainable Innovation,” the event brought together architects, engineers, certification bodies, and companies in the sector to discuss the future of wood construction.
PORTILAME was represented by architect João Veloso, who joined the panel “Innovation, Certification, and Construction” alongside Paula Salazar (PEFC Portugal) and Sofia Knapic (SerQ).
In his speech, João Veloso highlighted the role of industrialization and off-site construction as tools for making processes faster, more rigorous, and more sustainable. He also emphasized the importance of cooperation between companies and architects in creating innovative solutions that respond to the challenges of housing, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
With over 20 years of experience, PORTILAME has established itself as a leading partner in wood construction, combining technical knowledge, innovation, and environmental responsibility. Participation in PNAM’25 reaffirms this commitment and highlights the growing importance of wood as a material of excellence for sustainable and responsible architecture.
