The Ai Weiwei Atelier, a landmark project realized by PORTILAME, has been nominated for the Construir Awards 2025 in the category “Engineering – Private Project.”
This distinction follows an evaluation by Jornal Construir, which considered criteria such as innovation, media visibility, national and international recognitions, and other indicators of excellence. The assessment period covered projects developed between January 2024 and September 2025.
The Ai Weiwei Atelier, located in Montemor-o-Novo, is a space that blends art, architecture, and nature, reflecting the artist’s philosophy of simplicity and the dialogue between tradition and contemporary design. It is a project where wood was carefully worked to enhance natural light, integrate with the landscape, and ensure durability, transforming the space into a true symbol of innovation and cultural identity.
