We are looking for a Joinery Estimator to join our team, responsible for analysing projects, assessing requirements, preparing quotations and developing commercial proposals in the field of joinery and timber construction.
The professional will play a key role in determining project costs, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness and compliance with deadlines when preparing and submitting proposals.

Responsibilities

•⁠ Analyse projects, technical drawings, written specifications and bills of quantities;
•⁠ Interpret joinery and timber construction projects;
•⁠ Carry out measurements and quantity take-offs;
•⁠ Prepare bills of quantities and cost estimates;
•⁠ Calculate the costs of materials, labour, equipment and other required resources;
•⁠ Request and analyse quotations from suppliers and subcontractors;
•⁠ Research prices and identify the best technical and cost-effective solutions;
•⁠ Prepare commercial proposals and supporting documentation;
•⁠ Assess alternatives and solutions aimed at optimising costs;
•⁠ Ensure compliance with deadlines for the submission of proposals;
•⁠ Support the commercial and production teams in cost analysis;
•⁠ Monitor changes in material and service prices;
•⁠ Participate in the analysis of variances between estimated and actual costs.

Desired Profile

•⁠ Technical or higher education in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, Joinery or related fields;
•⁠ Professional experience in estimating roles, preferably in joinery, construction or timber construction;
•⁠ Good knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings and project documentation;
•⁠ Knowledge of materials, construction processes and joinery techniques;
•⁠ Ability to carry out measurements and quantity take-offs;
•⁠ Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
•⁠ Strong analytical, organisational and attention-to-detail skills;
•⁠ Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple proposals simultaneously;
•⁠ Good communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams;
•⁠ Sense of responsibility, autonomy and team spirit.

What We Value

•⁠ Experience in timber construction and/or timber structures;
•⁠ Knowledge of AutoCAD or other technical drawing software;
•⁠ Experience with estimating software and/or ERP systems;
•⁠ Knowledge of joinery production and installation processes;
•⁠ Knowledge of joinery material markets, suppliers and pricing;
•⁠ Experience in analysing projects of varying sizes and levels of complexity.
