On May 28, PORTILAME hosted a visit from members of the State Secretariat for Housing at its facilities, as part of an initiative aimed at identifying Portuguese companies capable of contributing to the industrialization of construction and addressing the current challenges facing the housing sector in Portugal.
During the visit, the representatives had the opportunity to get a close look at PORTILAME’s production operations, as well as the work the company is doing in the field of wood construction, with a special focus on industrialized, modular, and off-site solutions. These approaches are becoming increasingly important as the country seeks faster, more efficient, and more sustainable solutions to the housing shortage.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase PORTILAME’s technical, production, and technological capabilities, highlighting the role of wood as a high-performance raw material, offering advantages in terms of sustainability, speed of execution, cost predictability, and construction quality.
For PORTILAME, this meeting represents a significant moment of dialogue between the public sector and the business community, reinforcing the importance of collaboration among government entities, industry, developers, and other construction stakeholders.
This visit reinforces the recognition of the potential of industrialized wood construction as part of the solution to Portugal’s major housing challenges.
